1. Who we are

Cape Removals is a furniture removal company at Brackengate Business Park, Cape Town, and has been operating since 2012. We are the responsible party for your personal information under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

2. What we collect

• Contact details: your name, phone number, email address and WhatsApp number.
• Move details: your collection and delivery addresses, your moving dates, your inventory and any access notes.
• Anything you send us on our quote and inventory forms, by email, by phone, on WhatsApp, or through Meta (Facebook and Instagram) lead forms.
• Website data collected through cookies and analytics, explained in section 8.

3. Why we collect it

We use your information to prepare quotes, book and schedule your move, talk to you about your job, invoice you, and meet our legal obligations. We don’t use it for anything unrelated to these purposes.

4. Legal basis and consent

We process your information with your consent, which you give when you send us an enquiry. We also process it where we need it to carry out the contract you asked for, or where the law requires it. You can withdraw your consent at any time, but we may then be unable to quote or complete your move.

5. Who we share it with

We share your details only with our crews and our subcontractors, and only the details they need to do your move. They have to keep your information confidential. We never sell your personal information or rent it out. We only disclose it to anyone else if the law requires us to.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above, or for as long as tax and accounting law requires. After that, we delete it or remove anything that identifies you.

7. How we keep it safe

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access.

8. Cookies and analytics

Our website uses cookies and analytics and advertising tools, such as Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel. These help us understand how people use the site and measure how well our ads work. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

9. Your rights

Under POPIA you have the right to:

• ask what personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it,
• ask us to correct or delete it,
• object to us processing it, including for direct marketing,
• withdraw your consent,
• complain to the Information Regulator.
